Born in the USA, Mel Ramos has been a well-known Pop Art Artist since the 1960s. He is mainly known for painting women against enlarged consumer products. Like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, he is one of the first artists to be inspired by comic books. He often used his own wife as a model for his nude paintings. His works can be seen in the Guggenheim, the New York's Museum of Modern Art and many other prestigious museums.
